K.R.Raja graduated with a Masters Degree in Social work with the Specialization of Medical and Psychiatry. At present, he lives in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, state in southern India. He gained field experience by putting into practice social work principles to redress problems among various vulnerable populations including persons with HIV/AIDS and psychiatric illness, destitute, intellectually challenged children, abandoned elderly citizens, prisoners and their children and victims of organ trafficking. He was awarded with a one- year fellowship for social entrepreneurs by Kanthari International Institute of Social Entrepreneurship. He has volunteered and worked with an NGO called “Prisoners Assistance Nepal”, in Kathmandu – Nepal, and have assisted in management of a Children’s home.

Aravindan.S

Secretary – COFS India – Chennai.

Aravindan.S graduated in Computer Application. He is residing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and is working with a Multi-National Software Company as Head of Infrastructure Support. Aravindan S participated in rescue operation of Tsunami in the year 2004 and from then on he has been actively involved in many philanthropic activities. He has been a leading volunteer with India against Corruption as a steering committee member. He has also conducted many awareness camps regarding palliative care, rain water harvesting and abuses against women. He also plays a very dynamic role in different fields such as Pet Animal’s Rights, and Rescue/ Rehabilitation.

S.Thilakraj

Treasurer – COFS India – Chennai

Thilak Raj has completed his degree in English literature. He lives in Chennai. He worked as a Team Lead in HCL Technologies Ltd. Floor topper in metrics No.1 in customer satisfaction survey continuous winner of ‘People’s Hero’ award given for attrition.

Now Thilak is managing “Sevai Karangal” (Helping Hands) full time a Non Profit organisation which will uplift the homes which are getting fewer funds. Service was always been his passion, from small things till now. Initially he was collecting old clothes and rice, give it to any home. Visiting homes to brushing kids teeth and give them a bath. Take classes for underprivileged home and students. Later he thought to start an orphanage. So started to visit many orphanages but found that there is no balance between them. Few of them getting funds more that they want and the other hand many of them were struggling for a day’s meal. Finally wish to channelize all the resources for the sustainability of existing orphanages so dropped the plan of starting an orphanage by his own and started ‘Sevai Karangal’,

 Thilak has practiced mediation for the past 17 years. Completed the master’s course and also teach it. He conducted classes for students, govt staff and corporate companies. He also conducts sessions on Goal setting, Time management, leadership qualities etc. separately, or/and make it as a Personality development course as a whole. He gives training to corporate employees

He is also an Environment Enthusiast: Participated, co-organised, organised many clean-up, awareness wild life campaigns. ‘Save Tada’ a cleanup drive at Tada falls, couples of Mega beach clean-up covering 15 km of Chennai coast, starting from marina and till Injambakkam were more than 800 volunteers participated. And beach clean-ups and awareness campaigns were the main aspect is to create awareness among public not to litter.

A.Suresh Kumar

Suresh has done his graduation in textiles and He is living and working in Chennai as manager in a textile company.  Right from his young age, He loved to take part of social activity and an active member of all his school & college social activities. Last 15years participated in various programmes under SOJAHUR – MNGO – Pondicherry.

Suresh always wanted to be part of the society which is ultimately towards positive change, He was impressed by India Against Corruption, a movement which was evolved two years back and the movement led by Mr.Anna Hazare a corruption crusader. He participated in all activities of the movement at Chennai. Since then he was involved with various people who are serving for Women’s Empowerment, Save Nature and Liquor prohibition in Tamil Nadu. Suresh has passion to work as a Team member in groups aiming for the radical change of society.

M.Chandra Mohan

Board of Trustee, COFS India – Chennai

Chandra Mohan is a graduate in New York Film Academy NY, USA for Film Direction and a graduate in Bachelors in E-Commerce in North-western Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma USA. He lives in Chennai India. He is a full time Social / Political activist. He was the National Core Committee member representing Tamil Nadu in the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare. His activism don’t end with fighting corruption, anywhere anything goes wrong he like to lend his support to make it right, be it the Farmers issue or Violence against women issue, Sri Lankan genocide issue or any other issue that is against humanity and that which prevents people from having a decent and dignified life.

Chandra Mohan was at a very young age part of Refine India Movement started by his father who is his first and foremost inspiration to fight against injustice. Then he started his own movement Revive India Movement, which was started to make massive changes in the way government functions to bring in more transparency and accountability using technology via E-Governance, He sent a proposal to the Government of India regarding this and still awaiting a response, the movement was also started to change the way elections are conducted in India and bring in more peoples participation in public governance. Personally He was a professional Tennis player winning ALTA City championship in Atlanta, Georgia from 2005 to 2007. He also conducts free tennis coaching to special needs children whenever he could.

J.Prabhakar (JP Sir)

Board of Trustee, COFS India – Chennai

J.Prabhakar known as JP is a Chennai based artist who specializes in Pen-and-ink line drawings. He work focused exclusively on the sacred arts and his themes tend to be temples, monuments and sculptures. With no formal education in arts, JP is entirely self-schooled.

 JP travels extensively, seeking out temples from all over the country and capturing their essence on paper. He reflects all those in his art. In recent years, JP has been regularly contributing illustrations to them leading magazines.

Apart from art, JP is a prominent social actionist. He is a convener of Network for Development & Service Organisation (NDSO). Through NDSO he has brought about 800 NGOs into an umbrella network. He has successfully organised annual conference to have fruitful discussion within those NGOs and still he is actively planning to expand NDSO other states of India. With a view to facilitate networking between these groups and interested members of the public, he publishes an annual directory of volunteering efforts in the country.
