K.R.Raja graduated with a Masters Degree in Social work with the Specialization of Medical and Psychiatry. At present, he lives in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, state in southern India. He gained field experience by putting into practice social work principles to redress problems among various vulnerable populations including persons with HIV/AIDS and psychiatric illness, destitute, intellectually challenged children, abandoned elderly citizens, prisoners and their children and victims of organ trafficking. He was awarded with a one- year fellowship for social entrepreneurs by Kanthari International Institute of Social Entrepreneurship. He has volunteered and worked with an NGO called “Prisoners Assistance Nepal”, in Kathmandu – Nepal, and have assisted in management of a Children’s home.

S.Thilakraj

Treasurer – COFS India – Chennai

Thilak Raj has completed his degree in English literature. He lives in Chennai. He worked as a Team Lead in HCL Technologies Ltd. Floor topper in metrics No.1 in customer satisfaction survey continuous winner of ‘People’s Hero’ award given for attrition.

Now Thilak is managing “Sevai Karangal” (Helping Hands) full time a Non Profit organisation which will uplift the homes which are getting fewer funds. Service was always been his passion, from small things till now. Initially he was collecting old clothes and rice, give it to any home. Visiting homes to brushing kids teeth and give them a bath. Take classes for underprivileged home and students. Later he thought to start an orphanage. So started to visit many orphanages but found that there is no balance between them. Few of them getting funds more that they want and the other hand many of them were struggling for a day’s meal. Finally wish to channelize all the resources for the sustainability of existing orphanages so dropped the plan of starting an orphanage by his own and started ‘Sevai Karangal’,

 Thilak has practiced mediation for the past 17 years. Completed the master’s course and also teach it. He conducted classes for students, govt staff and corporate companies. He also conducts sessions on Goal setting, Time management, leadership qualities etc. separately, or/and make it as a Personality development course as a whole. He gives training to corporate employees

He is also an Environment Enthusiast: Participated, co-organised, organised many clean-up, awareness wild life campaigns. ‘Save Tada’ a cleanup drive at Tada falls, couples of Mega beach clean-up covering 15 km of Chennai coast, starting from marina and till Injambakkam were more than 800 volunteers participated. And beach clean-ups and awareness campaigns were the main aspect is to create awareness among public not to litter.
